Random Album Cover Assignment

The name of my band is Cerceris; a cerceris is a type of wasp In the Crabronidae family. Instead of making my album a rough edgy album, like most would think with the name of a wasp, I decided to make it calm and relax album. Using the photo of a wheat filed  I came across I took the bright picture and made it slightly darker and placed the bight title “one for breakfast” at the bottom of my album for simplicity and to make sure my picture is visible and lets people really see what I want them to.  For this album cover I was going for the theme that is calm, even though a wasp isn’t calm the idea of one for breakfast is.

Gay Men Donating Blood In Canada

Gay men Donating blood in Canada Writing Report

My initial intent for creating a visual advocacy poster based on gay men donating blood in Canada comes from personal attachment.  With the idea of blood being a substance that has a drip affect such as water  “a raindrop” I took this shape and created the shape on my poster using words I found as I was researching, also other strong powerful words. I used a deep red such as the color of blood, seeing how it stood appropriate. I kept my concept simple I used the program illustrator because it allowed me to worked with the lines and letters I needed to, to be able to create the blood drop shape I was looking for. I created a poster using only words yet I was able to build imagery that could persuade people. Using different fonts and font sizes, I was given the ability to make other words that I thought were of higher priority stand out on my poster within the red blood drop. Using the programs I did and step I used I was able to create a poster with meaning and shock value.

Typography Self-Portrait

I started off gathering lyrics of my favorite songs and picking the names artist I really enjoy and love listening to, such as Amy Winehouse, BB brown and Tracy Chapman. I then used a photo of my self to out line the slight oval shape that defines my face.
My design choices such as bold, large, small, and thin letters are used to show the power of each song and or artist, such as the artist in my portrait AMY short for Amy Winehouse, I use all capitalized letters in bold with a large font cause she’s a powerful and noticeable artist in my eyes, my portrait represents how I feel about those particular artist and lyrics
